You are a multi-Utility Locator who takes pride in accurately locating underground facilities. You have experience working independently and enjoy working outdoors.
Job Description
- Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, procedures and acting in a safe manner at all times
- Interprets job order tickets
- Reads blueprints and maps
- Plans travel routes between urban and rural areas
- Operates testing equipment to pinpoint the location of underground utilities
- Monitors equipment (excavators etc.) to ensure facilities are not damaged
- Creates drawings using Visio
- Collection of field data operating electromagnetic induction locating equipment with all accessories.
- Read project sheets and perform project safety site inspections.
- Read, interpret and augment maps with notes.
- Drive service vehicle and maintain inventory and safe storage of equipment.
- Travel to other cities/areas, work in a variety of settings and work site conditions.
- Operate a computer.
- Create digital locate sketches.
- Take photos of locates.
- Other duties as required.
Job Qualifications and Skills
- ORCGA DPT trained is an asset
- Previous experience performing locate requests, reporting and escalations an asset.
- Must possess a valid "G" class driver's license and clean driver’s abstract
- Self-organizing and able to multi-task
- Strong communication and team skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to work on job sites outside for long periods
- Ability to carry up to 15 lbs.
